The full-day conference Deepfakes, Distrust and Disinformation: The Impact of AI on Elections and Public Perception took place on October 1 at the SwissTech Convention Center. Organized by the EPFL Center for Digital Trust (C4DT) in collaboration with the EPFL AI Center and IMI, the event explored how generative AI is reshaping disinformation and its potential to influence election outcomes.
Experts from various fields gathered to discuss cutting-edge solutions to detect and combat AI-generated disinformation. Discussions also focused on the role of media, platforms, governments, and civil society in maintaining election integrity. With over 160 participants, the event was a huge success!
